I’m just like you, but I got lucky and stumbled into the amazing world of digital marketing! Here is my story...

As a kid...

Growing up, I lived in a single parent household. My parents divorced while I was in elementary school. Our grandmother moved in shortly after that. Yes we had child support but raising two young boys, money was always tight. Our mother worked hard and decided to go back to school and earn a degree to improve her situation. She showed us the importance of hard work, education and always being there for us. We didn't have the name brand clothes, the fancy car or vacations like a lot of our friends, but we had each other. Our travel time was when we spent holidays or summers with our Dad as he moved around the country. I remember eating a lot of generic name brand foods back then and vacations on credit cards. I saw the struggle of raising kids in a single parent household. It was a daily challenge.

Then the entrepreneurship bug bit me...

In high school, when I started my own mini-lawn service for our neighbors in the summer and shoveling snow in the winter. It taught me how to use tools and become efficient in the process. However, college slowed the entrepreneurship bug in me.

Then I tried all the things that, well, didn't work...

Like many aspiring entrepreneurs, I faced my fair share of failures. I launched a business trying to place vending machines in restaurants and stores. It never took off. Despite investing in inventory and machines I wasn't equipped to be successful at attracting customers. It taught me that my next opportunity I would make sure that I was equipped to be successful, resilient and adaptable to new approaches.

I realized the importance of understanding my audience and the value of effective marketing. That failure, though painful, was a stepping stone that provided me with critical insights and skills.

Finally, I cracked the code!

My turning point came when I stumbled upon digital marketing. I thought there was no way that this couldn't be the newest scam and watched people for a year on social media. I finally sat down and watched a free webinar on social media marketing that piqued my interest. I decided to dive deeper and invested in comprehensive courses covering SEO, social media marketing, email campaigns, and pay-per-click advertising. I immersed myself in learning everything I could about these strategies. I used social media to create engaging content, optimized my website for search engines, and built an email list to nurture leads. I realized the power of digital marketing to reach a vast audience and convert interest into sales. This success story was the result of strategic planning, consistent effort, and leveraging the right tools.
